We want this store to be usable by everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, or magnification. This page describes what has actually been done and what has not, so you can judge it rather than take a claim on trust.
What has been implemented
- Text contrast. Body and supporting text is checked against WCAG 2.1 AA (4.5:1 for normal text). Support greys were darkened specifically so they still clear 4.5:1 on the tinted sand and sea-foam section backgrounds, not only on white.
- Image alternative text. Every product image carries descriptive alternative text. Decorative artwork is marked as decorative so screen readers skip it rather than announcing noise.
- Keyboard navigation. Interactive controls are reachable by keyboard and show a visible focus outline. The paddle matcher sliders are standard range inputs, so they respond to arrow keys and report their values to assistive technology.
- Semantic structure. Pages use real headings, lists, and landmarks, and forms use associated labels rather than placeholder text alone.
- Live regions. Results that change without a page reload — the paddle matcher ranking, form success and error messages — are announced politely rather than changing silently.
- Motion. Movement is limited to short transitions on hover and focus. There is no autoplaying video, carousel, or parallax.
Known limitations
- This site has not been audited by an independent accessibility specialist, and no formal conformance claim is made. The checks above are our own.
- Some product photography comes from suppliers and contains text baked into the image. That text is not readable by a screen reader. Where it carries real information, we repeat it in the written specifications on the product page.
- Shopify's checkout is not part of this theme, and its accessibility is determined by Shopify.
